The Queen, Irish President and Australian State Coach

The Queen can be seen here in the Australian State Coach during the ceremonial welcome to the President of Ireland Michael D Higgins and his wife Mrs Sabina Higgins, as they arrived in Windsor for the first ever Irish State Visit to Britain.
The coach is an enclosed, six horse-drawn carriage used by the British Royal Family. It was presented to Queen Elizabeth II of Australia and the United Kingdom as the official gift on the occasion of the Australian Bicentennial on 8 May 1988.

The coach was a gift from the Australian people and was designed and made by renowned coach builder W.J. Frecklington.
