The Australian War Memorial Museum has unveiled the uniform Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith wore when he singlehandedly charged into machine gun fire which was pinning down SAS soldiers, an heroic action which won him the VC. It has been revealed he was not wearing body armour at the time. He had removed this so he could use his rifle more easily and did not have the time to put it back on.
He has donated his VC to the museum.
He is a great Australian hero.
