Commissions From The Queen To The Governors

Read the “dormant” Commissions from the Queen to Quentin Bryce and to William John Ellis to administer the Commonwealth in the absence etc of the Governor-General and just marvel at the seamless and inexpensive transition of authority in our constitutional system.

When the US President travels, he brings with him the executive government of the United States.

Hence the armada and communication hub that accompanies him.

In other countries, a transfer of the authority of the Head of State brings mobs out in the streets, or at least involves the vast amounts money to hold an election.

Not so in Australia.

Until next time,
David Flint
