Maurie Evans, the Convener of the Gold Coast Branch advises that the News Limited newspaper (that is a Murdoch newspaper), The Gold Coast Bulletin, conducted a poll on 14 and 15 August, 2006. Respondents could telephone, write, email or fax their answers.
The question was "Do we still want a Constitutional Monarchy?"
The results were:- YES 78% NO 22%
That, in anyone’s terms, is a landslide.
