On the eve of Australia Day, The Bulletin is inviting readers to tell them the best thing about Australia. Some of the reasons that Australians love their homeland, they say, include : “The Opera House, indigenous heritage, the AFL grand final at the MCG, mateship, the beach, multiculturalism, silverchair, the fair go, the Great Barrier Reef, the Boxing Day cricket Test match, the spirit of adventure, and surfing.”
Submissions can be made on The Bulletin site, making sure a telephone number is included for verification. The best submissions – as chosen by The Bulletin’s editors – will be published in The Bulletin’s special Australia Day edition, which goes on sale on 23 January 2004. All reader submissions will published on The Bullring on Thursday, January 24.
