Vote on The Queen’s portrait at Ku-ring-gai

Ku-ring-gai Council is conducting an on line poll of residents about the location of the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Residents are asked to answer three questions:

* Do you think the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II should be located in its current position, behind the Mayor's chair in the Council Chamber?

* Do you think the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II should be located elsewhere within the Council Chamber?

* Do you think the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II should be located elsewhere in Council's administration building, not in the Council Chamber?

There seems to be no reason why a resident could not vote in favour of all questions. There is also a space for a comment.

This issue arose after the new mayor last year unilaterally removed the Queen’s portrait from the  chamber in which the Council meets. As we reported here on 19 October 2008, she did this in less than 24 hours after taking office.
