Wikipedia & Constitutional Monarchy

Wikipedia is an extraordinary success. Each month the site hosts 410 million unique visitors. They  account for 14 million page views across more than 250 languages.

How interesting then to see how Wikipedia's American founder Jimmy Wales describes his position thus:

“For his part Wales, says he is more like a constitutional monarch," writes Jon Bernstein in the  New Statesman, republished in The Australian Financial Review, 1 April 2011.

He quotes Jimmy Wales as saying :"I have certain very limited powers that serve essentially as a safety value, or a way forward in case of an impasse."
