Australian Platinum Jubilee Medal

To the Prime Minister, Government & Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia

What better way to celebrate the selfless service of our Queen than by awarding an AUSTRALIAN PLATINUM JUBILEE MEDAL FOR SELFLESS SERVICE.

There are so many Australians who have given (too often unrecognised) service in our defence, in fighting bushfires, floods and the pandemic, in the hospitals, in lifesaving, in our protection and in so many other ways across the nation and beyond.

Next year, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II will have been on the throne for a record 70 years. It will be the 67th year from her first momentous visit to Australia, the 69th since she swore her Coronation Oath and the 75th since she made this solemn promise on her 21st birthday:

“I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be dedicated to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.”

Our Queen has, with the loving and loyal support of her recently departed consort Prince Philip, selflessly and without financial reward, faithfully kept these promises.

What better way to recognise this than by an AUSTRALIAN PLATINUM JUBILEE MEDAL FOR SELFLESS SERVICE.

Australians for Constitutional Monarchy, who led the case in 1999 to keep the Australian Constitution as it was conceived, is writing to the Prime Minister to propose he appoint a committee of persons of the calibre of the 26th Governor-General of the Commonwealth, General Sir Peter Cosgrove AK, CVO, MC, the 25th Prime Minister of Australia, the Hon. John Winston Howard OM AC SSI, the 28th Prime Minister of Australia, the Hon. Tony Abbott AC, the Hon. Kim Christian Beazley AC, Governor of Western Australia, the Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG, former Justice of the High Court and Her Majesty’s Australian coach builder Mr William James Frecklington OAM, MVO – as well as prominent and loyal media commentators, such as Alan Jones AO, Rowan Dean and Michael McLaren and some Young Ambassadors for our Constitution – to advise on the process of designing and awarding the medal.

Please sign our Petition to celebrate the first Platinum Jubilee of any monarch in our Commonwealth and to honour and recognise the selfless service of so many Australians by the awarding of an AUSTRALIAN PLATINUM JUBILEE MEDAL FOR SELFLESS SERVICE.

Hi, I like the idea of a ‘platinum jubilee medal’. As a member of a volunteer first responder emergency service I would wear it with pride.
If I may make one comment, Kim Beasley has an AC so perhaps add to his post nominals.

There are many members of Emergency services Salaried & Volunteer that quietly go about their duties without expecting any reward by the issue of medals. However when one is issued they are proud to be recognised as having served. This Platinum Jubilee year is the time to (without favour) issue them with the Platinum Jubilee medal,on behalf of Queen Elizabeth 11.Lets face it Emergemcy workers give their time and on sad occasions their lives, being recognised should be automatic, not dependant on the decision by Cabinet or Politians in Canberra. As was the case for the Queens Gold & Diamond Jubilee. For once lets keep politics out of the Queens 70 year Platinum Jubilee.Canada NZ, Fiji to name a few already have committed their loyalty to the Queen as members of the Commonwealth.let AUSTRALIA do the same by example.”Less We Forget” her dedication.
